Royal Mail catching up on deliveries
Excellent news, Royal Mail will add Saturday as delivery day to catch up on delays!
As of Saturday June 13, Royal Mail will be bringing back Saturday deliveries after more than a month, reports Essex Live.
Due to the impact coronavirus had on the company, the postal service reduced their days of delivery during the week from six to five. This was mainly because of staff shortages and an increase in demand. Going into lockdown meant more people were using the service to keep in contact with loved ones. Now standard first and second class post can be delivered on a Saturday - instead of a Monday - the day it had been delivered on instead since May 2.
Despite the change last month, the service was affected that much but it was more of an inconvenience to customers.
A statement on their website read: "We will resume the six-day-a-week delivery of letters and parcels from June 13."
